Lilly’s POV

The moment I stepped into the great hall of Alpha Peter’s packhouse, the world seemed to stop. Hundreds of faces turned in my direction, their eyes tracking my every move as I emerged atop the grand staircase.

The marble steps seemed to stretch endlessly beneath my feet, and the golden chandeliers above bathed the entire hall in a warm, almost surreal glow.
