Chapter 71

Summer POV

Rachel was still shaken but she managed to shift and stand with Mom and me. Our random shifts caught the attention of the people in the Deli. Thank goodness this was a shifter town because stuff like this wouldn’t go down well with humans.

“Hardly a fair fight, Summer,” Dimitri laughed, he didn’t bother to shift.

“Summer, this isn’t the place for a fight, we have to get him away from the Pack,” Mom said through our mind link.

“You’re right.”

I opened my mind link to Ezra. It was unique to us so no one could hear it apart from us, thank goodness.

“Dimitri’s in the Pack. We’re going to drive him away.”

While Rachel and Mom turned around and ran onto the road I jumped on Dimitri and dug my claws into his chest to give him even more reason to chase me.

“Bitch!”

I may have overdone it.

Dimitri shifted into a menacing wolf and chased me in dimming daylight on the road as cars and motorbikes innocently drove by.
