Chapter 87
Summer POV
I cupped my hand, and bile rose in my throat. Brook placed her hand on my shoulder.
“I told you not to come in here,” she scolded.
“What is all this?” I asked after I swallowed.
I shiver ran through me, but I inched closer to the counter where black feathers and blood spread across the dark marble and the sink.
“I don’t see an animal,” Brook commented.
“Neither do I.”
We stepped around the kitchen, but all we saw were feathers and blood. Brook pulled out my phone. This was just like my wedding dress.
“I’m calling the Alpha,” she said.
“No, wait. Let’s look outside.” Before we jump to conclusions, I want to make sure the animal isn’t outside the kitchen window.
“But Summer!”
I rushed out of the kitchen door before Brook could protest. I carefully scanned the area.
There wasn’t even a hint of an animal out here.
