Chapter 91
Summer POV
Without a doubt, Ellen was the ringleader of this show. She tried to dictate how my child would be raised. Who knew what her plan was now? The meeting was in Ezra’s study but when I got to the hall the meeting was over and the group of elders, including my Father, had just walked out.
“Hey, Kid,” Dad said.
His large hand smoothed my hair and pulled me to his chest. I was powerless to escape his embrace. So many words were said yet unsaid in the hug. It was just what I needed
“Hi, Daddy.”
“You shouldn’t be down here, you should be resting. Rest does you good, kid.”
I was tired of resting. The more I rested the more my mind lingered on the baby and what could have been. I needed to get out of the house and occupy my mind with something else.
