Calista’s POV

I poured out everything to her, avoiding the details of minor situations that might still cause her to worry. Mentioning the fact that Cedric and I kissed feels like… wrong that I couldn’t bring myself into it.

She finally exhaled deeply. “I understand how you feel,” she said gently. “I just have a few questions—”

“I’m sorry,” I choked out, my gaze falling to the floor. “Damn,” I muttered under my breath.

“Hey,” she whispered, moving closer and placing her hand on mine. “It’s okay… I get it. None of this is your fault, okay?”

“I know, but…” I trailed off, something in my chest was suffocating me. Her concerned blue eyes bore into mine, her grip on my hand tightening.

“Tell me,” she ordered, a small smile playing on her lips.
