Chapter 14
Camille’s POV
The drive was a rather refreshing one after a long day. It was a midnight drive with roof toppings folded so the breeze can mess with our hair while we both stole glances at each other all through the journey.
Car upon the blacktop flow, new tracks in an otherwise pristine expanse, driving in such meditative bliss gave a sweet sense of freedom even in the velvet dark, there is the light of the star, shining brightly upon us.
“Where are we going to? We are supposed to be lodging at a hotel or driving back to NYC.” I said as I matched through the greens of Dover forest while wild cricket flies occupied the air.
The dead brown decomposing leaves rose in swirls and fell to the soil weightlessly like that of a feather. I guess the cold misty weather did that to the forest. As we ventured into the thick, abundant forest, I could feel my heart pounding ferociously at what we came here to do.
