Chapter 29
Camille’s POV
The harsh beating of the drums of war was heard loud and clear for whoever dared to listen. This is not just some petty war between rivaling packs of wolves or out-of-town witches competing with the Sagittarius Pack. This is an ancient enemy, staling us, observing us, playing mind games till he or she is ready to strike and the worst part of all is how we are all blind to who we are combating against.
There was no name, no label, no tag, yet we have been warned to watch over our shoulders because an enemy lurks in the shadow. Now as I sit on the couch with legs crossed and pen scribbling fast on my notepad, I can’t help but wonder if laying low at the bayou was indeed still a smart choice or if running to the town where the enemy can’t fully manifest its true traits in the face of humans, after all, the existence of the supernaturals must remain a myth.
