Chapter 19. The Bond
I stripped and dressed in Marcel’s shirt. When I snuggled into bed with him my nerves eased and my temperature returned to normal. I chalked the symptoms down to a case of nerves. However, I jolted awake after midnight, struggling to breathe and sticky from sweat and heat between my legs. Marcel wasn’t in bed.
What was wrong with me? These weren’t symptoms from any disease I knew.
“Paris.” Marcel walked into the room from the bathroom.
“It… it,” I finished my sentence with a groan. I couldn’t describe the discomfort but I knew I needed release.
The mattress dipped from Marcel’s weight. His hand cupped the back of my head and lifted me off the pillow. He rubbed my waist with his right hand as he stared into my eyes.
“You feel it too,” he said.
“Feel what?”
His lips formed a thin line. He lay me down and then pulled off his grey shirt.
“What are you doing?” I winced.
“Helping you.”
