Chapter 34. Paris's Pain

I felt a presence hover over me in the kitchen of the pack house. Mindy called me after ten to tell me we got the job. I didn’t know she’d take me to the pack house. The house was full of flowers and Mindy told me there was more to come and food as well. The pack house was buzzing with people coming in and out.

I noticed Loki and Brent smoking out front. I had to pretend I didn’t know them because of the other wolves around. Brent’s face might have given him away though. Mindy’s laughter died and a mischievous smirk replaced it.

“Umm… I’m going to check out the backyard.”

“What’s there?” I asked.

“Oh, nothing special.” Mindy scurried out.

I frowned. I turned around and my eyes went wide.

“Marcel,” I gasped.

Marcel shut the door and closed the distance between us. He cupped my cheeks and looked at the back door Mindy left through.
