Chapter 38. The Festival
I stared at myself in the mirror I felt different like I wasn’t exactly me but I saw reminisce of the girl I once was. I ran away from the only town I’d ever known and found myself here. I still had bruises when I arrived in Elvira Falls. Rafael and Caleb felt like a lifetime away but fear of them finding me was always nibbling in the back of my mind.
I opened the water in the sink and sighed before suddenly shivering at the heavy presence behind me. When cool hands massaged my shoulders I relaxed. Marcel kissed my shoulders and my neck.
“Marcel,” I moaned.
“Why so tense?”
“N-nothing.”
“That reply doesn’t work with me, Kitten.” He dug his teeth into my skin.
“I was just thinking… about how far I’ve come.”
Marcel stopped. “Worrying about your twin brother and—”
