Chapter 52. Friends of the King

Paris POV

The barn was open again and the buzz was incredible. I’d been on my feet for hours. I didn’t have a moment to myself to think about Marcel and my date last night. He took me home and made love to me. Tess called early about her grand opening. Everyone in town showed up.

Marcel didn’t like me leaving so early but he promised to stop by when he was done with his errands.

“Can every day be a grand opening? I’ve made a record of tips today.”

“Tell me about it,” I said.

We stood behind the counter watching the crowd die down. I craved five minutes to myself.

“You don’t need tips, Paris. Your boyfriend’s loaded. Have you seen his mansion?”

“I’m not ready to quit. I need to find something to do first.”
