Chapter 13. The Watcher

Mia’s eyes cracked open, and it took a while for her senses to return and when they did, she realised she was in a small room having little lights. There was no memory of how she came here or what led up to this moment. It was all blurry.

She placed her head, which ached slightly, and traced it down her neck and she found it bare. It felt wrong. There had been something around her neck before, something like a collar. Yes, a collar. It was called giga.

At the thought, the memory came back. The collar injecting the wolfsbane through the silver needles into her system had contributed to her weakened state before everything faded out. But now it was already off her. There was no need to prolong the issue. She knew she was dead, and that was the only explanation that made sense.

This, however, wasn’t the life beyond which she pictured for herself. This was something different. Was she in Inferno? Did she deserve to be in Inferno? Was it because she gave up and felt too
