Chapter 14. The Bond of Mates
He heard footsteps and, turning around, he saw Mia at the door of the inner room, holding a thick brown blanket around her body as a covering.
She pulled herself further into the room. “Why do you always believe I have something planned out?” she cocked her brow at him, pouting her bottom lips adorably.
His mouth twitched to the side as he eyed her suspiciously, “Because you’re my wife and I know you, and what do you have underneath that?” he pointed to the blanket.
Her cheek burnt, but she played the clueless game which she was terrible at. “I have nothing there.”
His eyes narrowed at her while he fought a smile. “Then show me.” he stepped forward.
“No! I have nothing there,” she protested, stepping back as if to hide away.
His smile widened. “Show me and I will apologise if I’m wrong.”
