Chapter 544. Breakout

Wren POV

The portal between the realms is broken. When Onyx gave her life to open it, the magical fabric became damaged beyond repair. It can’t be closed. Fae and Lycan guards stand on either side to keep it safe until a remedy can be found. Nyx has been spending every moment trying to find a solution that doesn’t involve another sacrifice from the royal family. So far, she is coming up short. Or at least that is what I am being told.

The doctor is refusing to let me leave the hospital. He has restricted my visitors, claiming my mental health is at risk. Only one person is allowed to see me a day. The doctor won’t even bend to my mother’s pleas to release me, and Dad has been restricted from the building. Something about threatening to burn it to the ground. This man can’t be reasoned with, and I get the feeling his reasons for keeping me here are selfish.

“It has been a week,” I growl at the doctor. “I am healed. You have seen it yourself.”
