Ruby’s POV
“Two minutes,” I countered, and turned to Begonia. “And I’m not fighting you.”
“Why not?” she sneered.
“You’re no match for me,” I said calmly.
“Just admit, Rue, you are still as weak as you were when you ran away from the pack. What a shame, the daughter of the greatest warrior to ever live is a fucking loser!”
Annoyed, I forced a smile through my teeth. “Fine, let’s start.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll take it easy on you,” she said patronizingly.
“Rue, be gentle,” Tate cautioned. I rolled my eyes but nodded. That angered Begonia. She lunged at me furiously, throwing heavy punches. I dodged and evaded her attempts.
“So much for taking it easy,” I mocked.
Begonia continued to struggle to land a punch or kick, but she couldn’t. Having had enough of her antics, I counterattacked, landing hits on her while considering Tate’s advice—being gentle but still enough to cause pain. Begonia was no match for me and couldn’t last a
