Ruby’s POV

My mates were both away, and I found myself sulking. I missed them so much and wished they didn’t have to leave my side. Manon was out with friends… or stalking her mate again, so I spent the day with Ael.

“Stop sulking, it’s not cute,” Ael said.

“Why? So that you can be the only one sulking?” I poked him. He exhaled and finally stood up from the couch where we’d been lounging.

“Let’s go get ice cream in the kitchen,” he suggested. We headed to the kitchen to grab some ice cream and found Begonia and Mary there. They both looked terrible, with dark circles under their eyes. They glared at us and stormed out of the kitchen without saying a word. It was odd, usually, they had snide remarks, and I had punches in response. I settled onto a barstool at the counter while Ael got ice cream from the fridge. He grabbed two spoons, and we started to eat.
