Ruby’s POV
I finally opened my eyes, but my body refused to move. I was lying on the ground, completely numb and unable to produce any sound. I attempted to channel my powers to regain control, but they felt lifeless. I also tried to mind-link with Ria, but she was so weak.
‘Ria, are you going to be alright?’ I asked, a wave of worry washing over me.
‘Yes, he keeps dosing us with something,’ she replied weakly.
‘Wolfsbane?’
‘No, we’re immune to that. It must be something stronger, maybe a toxin designed for chosen warrior wolves,’ she said. My heart ached for her.
The room I was in was dark, but I could smell a potent mixture of oil and metal.
