‘Do you notice anything weird about Astrid?’ I asked Kaiza, my wolf. I was taking the first watch while everyone slept so I was alone and I felt it was right to talk to someone about my growing doubts. I’d been uneasy the whole day because of the surge of emotions that I felt radiating from Astrid. I had to talk to her and reassure her that nothing would change the way I felt about her.
