Chapter 200. Test Beyond Limits

Peggy’s POV.

I kept running until I was out of breath. I wasn’t even sure of where I was going but I didn’t stop moving. As I ran tears ran down my cheeks and I gasped for air. I was still trying to get myself back. What had Ox done to me? I remembered.

Vampires could command. They could make someone do what they wanted. That was what he had done. I didn’t know why it broke my heart so much. Why did he do it? Was he trying to protect me? I couldn’t remember anything that happened before then.

I stopped running when I got to the road and I turned to look at where I had come from. That was when I realized that I hadn’t even gone a far distance at all because I could still see the building clearly right behind me. I hadn’t even left the vicinity yet.

I needed to head back to the estate but was it safe to go back alone, this night? There were vampires everywhere. I could be harmed. But I couldn’t go back inside the hall either. I wanted to leave, I couldn’t stay
