Dad had declared war. Even in his sick bed he had declared war. He wanted to fight me with my own troupes? Because for a long time now the vampires had worked for me and not for my dad.

I couldn’t stop him. I knew what I must do.

I had called the few men in the estate that were loyal to me and we discussed. I was informed about Peggy’s situation recently, always looking for ways to leave the estate by all means.

I couldn’t let her go, not now. Leaving the estate now would be dangerous to her. And I couldn’t let anything happen to her.

I wanted to marry her after everything had blown away, ask for her hand in marriage. I just needed her to stay out and wait for me while I sorted everything out.
