“Well at least leg him heal and be able to get back on his feet before you send him away please? You said you have a relationship with him. If it’s even slightly good then please allow him stay here for a while……..”

They did their hushed conversation thing and then nodded their heads simultaneously.

“Fine. He will remain here until he his healed and we will try our best to hide him away. But you? You must leave.”

The lady that brought us went to whisper something to the young guy and they seemed to have a brief back and forth before the guy then agreed. She turned and smiled at me and motioned for me to follow her while some men came to pick Manuel up again. We stopped at a room where Manuel was placed in a bed and tucked in carefully and then she held my man and showed me to a room where I was to stay for the meantime.
