Chapter 64. Counteract

“How did you know we would be here?” I asked, feeling very uncomfortable now.

“I am not a fool Felix. I and my mother have managed this pack for years now. Our men are not just inside the pack but outside, we watched silently while your men came and set up fuels and sticks around the pack, ready to raze it to the ground at your instruction.” He finished.

I suddenly didn’t know what to say. I didn’t have reinforcements. There was no one I could call to send men who would support me.

I felt stupid. How had it crossed my mind that Lloyd’s men would be outside this little pack as well. That means they had seen us when we were coming. They had known we would be arriving much earlier and they had stationed themselves beyond their pack.
