For the past few weeks there had been no celebrations at Silverlake pack, no impromptu parties, no overfeeding, no jolly moments, nothing. It seemed like John would never recover from the incident with Lovette and the rogue he hired to kill his brother James.
I was more than surprised to see what had become of him because of it. How could someone as influential as him be so affected by a rogue? Ordered by a rogue even. Every week I prepared myself for what seemed like the inevitable. The rogue could wake up at anytime and decide that he was done keeping me alive, and ask John to do with me as he pleased.
