Chapter 28. Daphne and George

Daphne’s POV.

George and I got back to the room, as soon as we were in he let go of my hand and closed the door. He took me to the bed and helped me sit down. He was being so gentle with me, like he didn’t want any harm to come to me.

He sat down next to me and for a few minutes we remained that way. Quiet and just taking in the new found peace after the occurrence with his father.

“I’m really sorry about my dad. He is a very…….inquisitive man and he likes to assert his authority by demanding answers to the most unnecessary questions.”

I nodded unable to look into his eyes as we spoke. “It’s fine. He had every right to want to know who I am and what I’m doing here.”

“You are my mate. That is who you are and you are here because you need to be.”

I suddenly became uncomfortable. Ever since I had been brought to the pack I hadn’t had any proper conversations with George and this was the first time we were alone together. And now I felt…….strange.
