Chapter 139

John observed the makeshift tent his wolves had set up to accommodate Henry; the sun was already setting, and the male was still asleep. John sat deep in thought about the consequences of Queniart Taylor's death. The male was a great warrior, and the commander struggled to understand how a powerful Alpha like him could be defeated like this...

Something was happening. John could feel it.

Was it just a conflict between Alphas, or was something worse coming?

The commander got up from the log he had been sitting on and walked over to one of the camp guards, making sure everything was calm before returning to the clearing. The males had lit a fire and gathered around it. John knew what everyone was thinking at that moment: where would they go next, Blackburn or the Red Valley?

John could very well divide his forces, but that wouldn’t be wise. He didn’t know what awaited them in the Red Valley. Henry would have to make a very difficult decision.
