Osborne POV

I was arranging the stack of papers on my desk when Alex walked in. He looked uneasy, his eyes darting briefly before meeting mine.

“The Alpha is back,” he said, voice low. “He’s requested your presence.”

I arched my brow and nodded. “And what about what I asked of you?”

Alex gave a faint smile. “He’s on it.”

Good. I rose from my seat, straightening my jacket before leaving the office.

Father was pacing the length of the room when I entered. The weight of tension hung heavy in the air.

“How did it go with him?” I asked, my voice calm but edged.

He spun to face me. “There will be war, Osborne. He bit where he shouldn’t have.”

I smirked faintly. That was what I wanted to hear. Words without actions are nothing but smoke without fire.

“Tell me whenever you’re ready,” I said smoothly, a smile playing on my lips.
