Chapter 18. Proud Find

Berton's POV

The day had been nothing short of long and tiring. Work was always demanding, but today was different. It was particularly stressful because I had to do a lot of work, signing tons of paperwork and attending to Pack members who had one problem or the other. I was almost fried from the stress and I was already looking forward to getting home anytime soon. It was just a matter of time before I could get back and unwind, relax and think of what to do next.

Two hours later, my work was done. I quickly grabbed my briefcase and told my assistant that I was done for the day.

"But.. there are still some of th–" She said but I cut her off, not wanting to hear anything she had to say. This wasn't the time for that. "I know... but my time is over and I'm not working overtime today. I need to rest and I'm sure you do too," I said, properly closing the door of my office.
