Chapter 84. Back Again

Emily's POV

"A song competition… organized by my childhood music mentor and some renowned musicians. And they want me to return as a judge?"

Sam nodded, his smile widening. "I thought it would be a great opportunity for you. You know, reconnecting with your music and your past. There are hardly any things that feel better than that. And it's going to be on your terms, so why not." I felt a mixture of many emotions- I was excited but at the same time I was nervous and there was also a touch of fear to it.

I would rather not see Berton again, and going back to the Pack meant I was going to meet him in one way or the other. I didn't want that, I just wanted to be here with my child. The thought of getting to meet him again made my heart beat furiously.

"It's been so long, Sam. I don't know if I'm ready." I said.

He placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder while smiling.
