Chapter 22. Masquerade Ball. Part 1

I watched as Alpha, Carson, and Cleopatra arrived at the ball on time, despite the four times, Carson stopped on the way to take a piss. His sister claimed he had the bladder capacity of a seven-year-old.

The venue was beautifully decorated. It had never-ending walls of lights, and a large chandelier hanged perfectly at the centre of the ceiling.

Dressed in elegant gowns and tuxedos, the ladies and gentlemen chatted amongst themselves. Their eyes sparkled with excitement, even behind the masks they wore.

The entire setting looked like it came straight out of a fairytale. The music from the orchestra filled the ballroom where couples danced and twirled the night away. Men directed intense glances at women, and the ladies shared playful giggles upon noticing their admirers. It all intensified the surreal background.

Cleopatra spotted some of her high school friends, so she politely excused herself and headed over to join them.
