Chapter 31. I’m Hazel
Why the hell was this weird lady staring at me like that?
Did she just call me Lucinda? I should introduce myself.
"I'm Hazel," I corrected her. "Lucinda was my mother."
The white-haired woman got a tad bit too close for comfort. I felt Zander's arms tighten around my waist.
It was obvious that he also was oblivious to the events taking place at the moment.
The woman examined my face with her eyes. She seemed taken with my features. Her eyes sparkled as she drank in every crook and nook of my face.
"You look exactly like Lucinda, and I don't mean you have her eyes or her nose—I mean, you're the exact replica of her. You could be her twin!" She gasped out.
"You knew my mother?" I wiggled from Zander's clutches.
"Knew Her? Honey, we were best friends, along with Genevieve and Zander's mother. We were the fearsome foursome," she laughed out.
