CARSON’S POV

I kept thinking about what Gabrielle said about me never holding CJ. She thought that I did not care about my responsibilities as a father and a mate; I most certainly do. It's just that I was terrified of fucking things up. Everything I touched gets fucked up somehow. When Cleo was a newborn pup, I snuck in the nursery and picked her up after my mother specifically told me not to do so. She was so tiny and beautiful. My clumsy, stupid ass dropped baby Cleo; her wails woke up our parents. My mom gave me an ass whooping and let's just say I never held a baby since. 

‘We are older now, Carson. CJ needs to bond with his father. We need to bathe him.’

I knew Jinx was right. We werewolves have to give our pups a special tongue bath so that our scents will be forever with them.
