Chapter 43. Last Straw

 Beta Jace's POV

“I need to replace this fucking car ASAP! What a snail's pace! Couldn't it be faster, Gamma!" Irritated, I turn to Kenry behind the wheel. We've been on the road for five minutes and it seems that Human Town is getting further with every second.

I'm in a hurry and this man isn't moving fast enough. 

 And here I am, thinking my car was the fastest in the pack after Zane's. 

 “We would have preferred to take the Heli. Unfortunately, this car is not an airplane, you'll have to settle for this speed, Beta," he notes. “I'm at the maximum that can take us safely into Human Town. Just a little while and we'll end up in some hospital and then you will arrive much later than you thought."

 I know he's right, but my wolf can't handle the truth. Maybe I should have just run the distance with my wolf. My mate needs me, or rather say, we need each other to strengthen our wolves. We are exhausted from the long separation
