Chapter 54
“Yeah, we could bring some food and spend the afternoon there.” I looked at the cup before he took it out of my hands and ruffled my hair.
“Go get a basket and a couple of blankets.” I nodded, going upstairs to get the blankets first. We’d been doing things like that lately, including spending evenings in the garden looking at the sky and walking around town.
Once we had everything ready, I went to get our jackets before going downstairs to the kitchen, giving her the basket so she could put the food in it and cover it with one of the blankets. We left the house, locked the door, and followed a path into the forest.
