Brian could not hide the desolation in his gaze, but Callium didn’t care anymore; did he have to give himself up to death with a smile? Just like that? He had wanted to be sympathetic and even compassionate with the boy; an act of good faith perhaps was what he did. Colin still seemed to hang in the abyss; his body was with the pack, but his mind was simply lost, or so it seemed; the young wolf did not speak to anyone, and everyone in the pack had already confirmed with their attitude that that human girl had been his soul mate and now she was dead, surely there was not even a corpse to mourn, believing that she was a witch the cruel humans burned her on a metal stake without mercy or compassion.
