We trotted along the dirt road in sync.

‘Where are we going?’ I mind-linked him.

‘Wait and see, love.’

After a few minutes, he mind-linked me. ‘Almost there.’

We walked a little longer until we reached a lake that led to a waterfall. It was beautiful. The way the moon lit the water was stunning. I looked at Luciano and could see his shyness.

I licked his muzzle. If we were in our human forms, I would’ve kissed him.

I mind-linked him. ‘Thank you. I love it.’

‘I knew you would. I’ve always wanted to take my mate here.’ He rubbed his face on my silver coat.

He lay down on the grass, and my mind linked me. ‘Sit.’
