Chapter 21

Sara's POV

I woke up in broad daylight from a bloody nightmare. When I opened my eyes, I was almost blinded by the sunlight coming through the window. I found myself wrapped in last night’s blanket full of sweat. I touched my mark, scratching at it. I wanted to get rid of it. I wanted to forget everything that happened, that I wasn’t married and didn’t have a mate anymore. I wanted to be with Max; he was so loving and sweet to me. He proved it to me last night when he tried to caress and fill every corner of my body with kisses.

I got up, holding the blanket against my body, heading for my room, where I took a quick bath and dressed in light clothes. Thanks to last night’s fire last night the house was warm. My hair was damp, cooling me down. I didn’t like to get too hot.

“Good morning, my sweet Sara.”
