Chapter 73

Alpha Thor’s POV

“Mother...” I knocked softly. “May I come in?”

“Yes, my boy,” I heard my mother’s voice from inside the room. I turned the doorknob and entered. Normally the guards at the doorway would have simply announced my presence, and I would have been ushered in immediately. But I feared I had wronged my mother with the way I spoke earlier on, so I decided to ask before entering.

My mother was sitting close to the balcony. She seemed to be in deep thought. She turned to look at me when I entered and looked away again. She continued to stare outside the balcony.

“Come closer, Thor. What is it?” She said calmly as I walked closer, without looking back at me. I got to where she was seated and knelt in front of her.

“Mother, I am sorry. You must forgive me for not conducting myself properly at...at my office.”
