Yaya’s POV
I helped Zena stand from the chair and then to the bed so she could lie down for a rest.
“Zena, I can’t stand that woman one bit,” I said indignantly as I fluffed her pillows.
Zena chuckled softly. “I know.”
“You didn’t have to say all those things you said. You didn’t have to allow her to speak to you like that. And most importantly, you didn’t have to ask her to remain here in the castle if she wanted to bloody well leave!” I snapped angrily.
Zena chuckled again. “I know.”
I looked at her. She had a smile on her face as she adjusted comfortably on the bed.
“Why are you doing all of this? Why do you allow people to use your past relationship to insult you? Zena, you could have Preeda and any other daring fellow beheaded for speaking to you without caution at a single word if you wanted to. So why do you let them do that to you?”
