Saffron’s POV
Tobias’ house was exactly what I expected—and yet, it wasn’t. It was clean. Spotless, really. Not a speck of dust, no clutter, everything was where it was supposed to be. The scent of pine and aged wood filled the air, tinged with a sharper edge that was just... him. It was clearly a bachelor’s home—no softness, just sharp corners, dark wood, and leather furniture that was probably super expensive.
But it lacked color. No paintings, no throw pillows, no plants. Just black, gray, and a dark navy that blended into the walls so well it almost looked natural. It was like walking into a very organized cave, functional, masculine, and cold.
Still, I liked it. Because it was Tobias’ and even in the stoic silence of his house. I felt... safe. I didn’t want to leave again.
