“Giselle!”
I thought of kicking the front door, but when I turned the knob, it was open.
The fear in me was so intense that my hands were shaking. I felt the veins in my head throb, and my heartbeat was fast as I looked around the small living area.
No, Giselle. No Catherine.
Instead, I saw a silhouette of a man just as tall as I am. The lights were out, and the only thing that illuminated the place was the moon, shining down through the open windows as the sheer curtains danced on the soft, cold breeze of the night.
Standing in front of me was Caden Einsworth.
And I felt his deadly intent in the air.
“I have been waiting for you. You are a little late.”
