Chapter 66. She Is Still My Mate
I was furious.
So, so furious because Caden started to complicate things again for me and Catherine’s life!
I sat in the corner of the hospital room, watching both of them play with a Rubik's Cube. Caden taught her how the thing works. Seeing the happiness and shine in my daughter’s eyes made me feel overwhelmed with guilt. She obviously liked Caden. She liked being with him, which I feared most, and it was happening right before my very eyes.
I understood and couldn’t ignore the small happiness I also felt seeing my daughter laugh and giggle. It’s just my fear that Caden would ruin everything again, just like he did before. Just like how he never cared for me, after I surrendered everything to him and forgave him so many f*cking times, it hurts to remember.
I rubbed my forehead as the veins in it started to throb achingly.
