Augustus’s POV

How could they do that to me? That was the only thing I was hoping would help me keep my position as the Alpha, and now, they have stolen the Alpha’s seal from me.

That bitch!

I paced the office angrily as I stared at the hole in the wall where the seal used to be, and I wondered how she was able to find it. That is what they say about getting involved with a woman. You will always regret it. Needless to say, I wasn't planning to be intimate with her that night, but the offer was too good to turn down.

This is so unlike me. Maybe I am starting to get soft. The only woman I have allowed myself to be vulnerable with was the one who was supposed to be my mate, whom I rejected and made her promise to never mention a word about it to anyone. I am sure she never did, chose even until her dying breath. She loved me, but it never moved me, or maybe it did, and I was too much of a coward to admit it. But I am well, past that now.
