“She’s not breathing,” I said as we rushed her to the ER, where Vera was waiting with her team.
“Stay outside.” One of them said as the door closed right in front of us.
“I distracted her, it was all my fault,” Layla said, and I went to hold her immediately.
“There’s no way any of us could have known there was something wrong with her car, so it wasn’t your fault. What happened would probably still have happened if you did not say anything to her.”
