Nate's POV

I can't believe this, even as believable as it sounded.

I tilted her face to look up at me as we lay on the bed.

"Why?"

"No reason; I was more focused on other things when I could, and after you became my mate, there wasn't an opportunity to."

She really deserves more than an apology for everything that was done to her. I kissed her forehead as we seemed to both be thinking, but I was about to make my apology when I realized she was sleeping already, so I let her be.

The next day, Layla and I were supposed to go out to see the warriors train together, so I met her half way, and we began to take the long walk towards the training ground where the men were training.
