Chapter 28

Nate's POV

After I ordered that the culprits should be killed, I went straight to my room and had a quick nap. I was just exhausted. 

The next morning, I went straight to my study for an important business and to tell James about my plan. I wrote a petition and sent it to James. I had made up my mind to hand over the throne to him. I would rather give up the seat than to allow the pack know about my predicament.

It was a weakness, and as soon as they find out about it, they might start to lose their faith on my ability to lead them. I do not want that to happen.

Andrew’s face held displeasure and disappointment as he saw the scroll that was about to be sent to James. He still couldn’t believe that I was really stepping down for James. He didn’t expect me to give in just like that. He had expected me to fight for it, with giving in like a coward…. 

“You don’t look happy, Andrew,” I said, even though I already knew why.
