Chapter 34

Third-Person POV

It has been two weeks since James took over as King. The palace had been in great agony. He wasn’t patient with the pack members the way Jared was patient with them. Whenever anyone does anything wrong, they are thrown into the dungeon and beaten mercilessly.

The elders of the pack had come together and called a meeting, begging him to be patient with the people, and he had ordered that they should be thrown into the dungeon and whipped. 

Just like the other time when he was king, he had successfully created enmity with some neighboring packs, including the packs that Jared had tried to remain close allies with.

He was in his study, or rather Jared’s study, when a knock came at the door. Before he could ask the person to leave or enter, the door opened. He hissed because he knew that there was only one person who could do that. His mother.
