Chapter 36

James's POV

I was seated in his study, with a bottle of liquor in front of me. My face was contorted into a frown as I thought about my encounter with Andrew. I was sad that Andrew could defend Nate the way he did. Never had I expected to see someone who would stand for Nate the way Andrew did. 

Initially I had asked other guards to come with him and serve me else I would kill them. Some agreed to stay, while others refused. The ones that refused to come, I asked the guards to whip them, each of them fifty lashes.

 I didn’t expect that Andrew would stay with Nate. And now the only thought running through my head was to find a way to get Andrew to be on my side. I needed Andrew to be with me, to be on my side, but I knew that would be impossible. Andrew would never succumb to me, no matter what I did.
