Nate's POV

Talk about a bad coincidence.

Why did that blabbermouth have to ruin this for me? I wanted her to find out from me if at all she would ever find out what I did.

She isn’t even interested in what happened. I may have reserved this for lying to her and then not having the balls to face her and own up but a murderer should be murdered and that was our rule. She knew this too so why isn’t she thinking along that line as a reason?

Perhaps that is because it is easier to see me as a criminal than her uncle. Somehow, that hurts more than I ever imagined ordinary words can. They may not be so ordinary though.

“You need to talk to her.” Her uncle, Rand said.

Rand was her uncle from the maternal side while the dead man was from her paternal side. Rand is one of my favourite amongst the elders because he seemed to understand the plight of everyone and tries to relate to them. The only reason he is not the leader of the elders is b
