Chapter 48

Back at the Palace again, Amareux and Nicollete had dinner. It was eight o'clock in the evening and in four hours' time, curfew would begin. The maids were getting ready to return to their quarters which was a building behind the palace. Ever since the King's departure to war, the maids had been retiring early to bed.

"I can't wait for all these to be over. I miss training." Amareux said. He was done eating already and he wiped his mouth with the ivory satin napkin. He didn't leave the table.

Nicolette was still eating, but she gave him her attention. Primrose wasn't with them. She had gone to bed early.

"I used to hate training, but now, I kind of want to resume training. It gives me the opportunity to go wherever I want. Now, my father isn't around and there's a curfew. The universe just doesn't want the best for me." Amareux sighed.

"With time, you'll have every freedom you desire.
