That stupid part inside me, that part that appeared to be connected to him, shrank a little, felt rejected. Even so, I was strong and I agreed.
“I think we agree that you don’t have to be kind to me just for convenience.”
Randall let go of my hand and got up. He was so tall that my neck hurt as I stared at him from the bottom up.
“Keep working and don’t make your presence a burden to us. If you need help, talk to Kelly and don’t get into trouble. From now on, I don’t even want to acknowledge your existence in this pack. Was I clear?”
“Of course, like water.”
Randall walked away without saying another word. I didn’t watch him leave. I didn’t give him a chance to think he had shaken me in some way. However, something told me that the closest werewolves were watching and hearing each of his words. I wondered if that wasn’t a tactic for everyone to realize that I wasn’t anything in there, that I wasn’t anything that could control their alpha.
